What is calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)?

know1

Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is made up of 37 amino acid neuropeptides. It is a chemical that assist in the transmission of pain signals in the nervous system.7–10

Although the regulation of CGRP synthesis in the human body is still poorly understood, research has shown that when headache strikes, affected patients will have an increased level of CGRP in their blood and saliva.7,8,11

How does Nurtec help?

know2

Nurtec binds effectively with CGRP receptors and blocks the interactions between CGRP and its receptors, which in turn relieve symptoms such as throbbing pain in the head.1,7,12 Anti-CGRP medicines, such as Nurtec, are medicines that block the binding of CGRP and its receptors.1,9,11 They can reduce vasodilation and neurogenic inflammation, including pain that is caused by inflammation.1,9,11,12

Nurtec might help if you are suffering severely with these related symptoms.1
